Philadelphia loves Green. How we can keep it Green.

Philadelphia is the home of the EAGLES. Green is our favorite color. ( atleast for most of us ) I hope even those who are not EAGLES' fans like the color of money.

Go Green is the new mantra. We can help the environment as well as save some green by making a few modifications in our day to day life.

Here are 10 ways that I plan on changing my habits.

1. Take my own  canvas bags to the super market.

2.Combine errands on a single trips and save gas.

3. Instead of taking the car walk to places close by.

4.I take my print cartridges to Staples. They give $3/ credit for HP. cartridges.

5.Donate old computers to schools.

6.Lions club has collection bins for eyeglasses. Donate eyeglasses that you don't need.

7.Old cell phones can be donated . They program them so people can use to dial emergency services.

8.Email CMAs and take the lap top with me . It will save a lot of paper.

9.Use energy efficient light bulbs in the house and solar lighting outside for landscaping.

10.Use water saving shower heads .

I believe we can make a difference.

I recycle my print cartridges at Cartridge World, because they are so reasonably priced there.  I also re-use my paper bags at the grocery store and they give you a .5 credit for each one (also some of the stores give a credit for bringing in plastic bags).

Tina, Thanks for the comments.

Ed, Shop Rite gives credit of 2 cents for plastic bags.

GREAT!  Some really good suggestions.  One you missed that we started this year is not buying bottled water....everyone in our family now has their own reusable water bottle.  We were going through a case a week in 2007 and into the trash went the empties.

Thanks for visiting my site and commenting on my Referral Exchange post.  I appreciate the time and effort.  Julie Jalone in Sacramento
