A Face Book Post

 I post on Face Book quite often. I don't live there as some people do but I have come to enjoy the look into other peoples lives. I posted on Face Book yeaterday and was overwhelmed at the responses I received. I won'trepost what others wrote, but one of my FB friend who is also an AR blogger practically demanded I repost on AR. So, below is my FB post from yesterday.

 Seven years ago this morning at about 7:40 (9 minutes from now) I was hit by a pickup truck while out doing a training ride on my bike. Lot's of life threatening injuries, but when the smoke cleared I was alive and faced a long recovery of almost one year. After 9 months during which my crutches (I called them my dance partners) became my best friend, my mom (smartest and kindest person I have eve...r known) gave me an order. She said bluntly, Dale it is time to shut up, stand up and get back to work. I did to the best of my ability what I was told. I must have ignored a few wake up calls before the accident. I had gotten lazy, and was bitter over the loss of a job. This wake up call convinced me I had been given a chance to accomplish whatever else God had wanted me to do with my life. Since the wake up call, I have worked harder, accomplished more, been a better father, a better co worker, and a better friend to everyone. I thank God for having this chance and I am equally glad that the wake up call was finally paid attention to. Thank you God, for this chance to to more.
