How Will the Government Shutdown Affect Sacramento Real Estate?

In the Washington, DC area, over 700,000 employees have been sent home.  The economy will feel the impact.

If this goes on long enough, it could affect buyers employed by the government who are being furloughed and suffering pay cuts.  Here in Northern Virginia, most of our population is employed by the Federal government or government contractors.  I remember during the spring we had a mandatory furlough of air traffic controllers due to budget issues.  Thankfully, the ATC I represented in a purchase was a saver.  She had been putting money in the bank for years.  The income loss didn't affect her loan at all.  But savers aren't the norm these days.

Anyway, that's a Washington, DC area problem and really not likely to result in a crisis.  These guys on Capitol Hill are putting on a show.  This will be resolved by the end of the week.

The sad fact is thee is nothing we can do about it.  the only one to blame is what you see in the mirror each morning.  We elected them

Different places, different results....let's hope the differences are put aside and end result is "different."
