Hollywood Is Coming To Lebanon Ohio! Hallmark Movie Shooting Plans!

The Hallmark Channel is filming "The Christmas Spirit" in downtown Lebanon starting today through the week of October 11th. Starring Nicollette Sheridan and Olympia Dukakis, they're running a tight schedule with the movie slated for 8 p.m. December 1st!

Now this won't be Lebanon's first time in the spotlight, with "Milk Money" (Ed Harris and Melanie Griffith) and "Harper Valley PTA" (Barbara Eden) having visited our town in years past!

You might see a few of your neighbors in the film filling some of the extras roles!

And it also means some disruption to downtown, with various closings of streets or possible changes to parking. We've made a map for you, click the icons and lines to find out planned impacts so you can schedule accordingly:

Sarah & Lester, This one happened pretty fast! News broke locally a couple of weeks ago. There's a rumor they planned to film somewhere else and something went sideways, so we've got them now. I might just have to watch the movie :)

To know that the Hallmark channel will be filming a Christmas movie in your city must be a real trill for residents. Put aside from the traffic issues for some communities the added revenue to the city coffers is always well received- sometimes excess food from craft services get donated to local homeless shelters and some tech equipment may even get donated to local schools or theatre groups.

Anita, They had some facebook postings for extras from the local residents. I'm sure the local viewing numbers will be high Dec. 1st!

Bobbie, Only if we accidentally walk through some filming!

Barbara, Got a haircut tonight and Lucid Salon stares from the corner right down Mulberry Street. They reported seeing Nicollette Sheridan today in the local stores shopping.

Kathy, As close as we'll get was probably tonight, walking through the area they're using to film. The trailers were set up in the municipal lot where I parked, but they were long gone by 6:30. Might have seen some "roadies", but that was all.

Endre, They did have a real estate role, but it's the "typical" greedy real estate developer out to destroy the small town. Oh well....hopefully there's a Grinch like transformation at the end :)
