How Will the Government Shut Down Affect Alpharetta & Johns Creek Home Sales?

Certain buyer verification forms are required to be processed by the IRS and the Social Security Administration before a loan can be closed. Talk with your real estate agent and your loan officer to determine where you are in the closing process.  These items may have already been processed for your closing, or your closing may not be taking place for several weeks, and if so, as long as Uncle Sam gets back to work, you will probably be ok.

However, there are certainly some Johns Creek & Alpharetta real estate closings that are going to be delayed. For the unlucky ones who are caught at the wrong point in the closing timeline, you will not be able to close until these agencies return the personnel who process these forms to work.  Hopefully the shut down will be short lived, and your delay won't be too long.  If the government does not go back to full operation soon, we are going to have to apply pressure so that our closings can take place.  Given the impact that housing has on the general economy, it's in everyone's best interests for our closings to proceed uninterrupted.
