Does everyone feel this way about traveling? I do my fair share of seminars and always find it a comfort to get back home. Traveling is stressful. So many things can go wrong from missing a flight due to a traffic accident to missing a turn on the highway. This trip was going well until the morning of the seminar when my car would not start. I was able to get to the seminar location in time (Stress point one) and called AAA for road side assistance. Had someone meet them while I was teaching the class and got it started.
Thing was that we let the car run to charge the battery for about 45 minutes. I came out during a break and stopped the car. When it was time to leave the car would not start (stress point two). Got help after I was finished teaching the class with a jump start and found a Goodyear store, somehow, to look at my problem (stress point three). Ended up buying a new battery and was now on my way home during 5 o’clock traffic and thunderstorms (stress point four) Drive home was in the rain and at night for another stressful time.
Did I say I was glad to be home?
Tax tip from all this; Clothes you get dirty on a business trip can be cleaned as a business deduction.
