As a resident of any area, you have places that you frequent because of the atmosphere and camaraderie. That place, for my husband and I at least, was The Temperance House on State Street in Newtown, PA. When we decided to move to Newtown a few years, it was the quaint downtown that it apart from other areas. That downtown included the Temperance House, which had a rich history that dated back to the founding of the country.
However, today, a story in the Newtown, PA Patch confirmed what we had suspected: "The Temp" was closing. I actually did a review of the Temperance House just last year. It really is amazing how quickly things can change.

The Temperance House has raised the bar as an important part of the makeup of Newtown's culinary community. It has held true for 11-plus years to the passions of the chef and culinary team, the service staff and the owners. Their hard work was proven in the experiences they provided to their guests.
It was a difficult decision, but the time has come for a new venture.
Well, we do wish everybody affiliated with the Temperance House the best. We look forward to see when / if "The Temp" reopens in the near future and once again becomes a popular spot in Newtown and Bucks County in general.
