What is there to Love about Raleigh, North Carolina!!
We Moved to the Raleigh Cary NC area over 16 years ago. We chose to move to this area after a brief visit to the Asheville NC area. When we returned home, we did a little research about North Carolina. Our research provided so many reasons to move to the North Carolina area.
At the time, had a toddler and one child on the way. My husband was offered a position with a company in downtown Raleigh. The job was good but, the area was even better!
So, why did we move here? Raleigh NC offers mild climate, affordable housing, great job security in many different career choices, great schools, top universities, beautiful scenery and wonderful people.
Maybe it is just a southern thing (yes, I know we're talking about "North" Carolina) but, people here are so nice and hospitable. We've made many wonderful friends over the years. Our kids know the Raleigh area as home.
We're now at the point of having college kids. One is in the North Carolina University system and another on her way in just a couple years. We've been very blessed with wonderful universities to choose from. As a matter of fact, they are some of the top schools in the country.
The area is very clean and for the most part, uncluttered. We enjoy all four seasons. We live in an area know as the City of Oaks because of the Oak trees. Raleigh is also known for having rolling hills. If you like the mountains and the beach you don't have to choose when you live here. You can easily travel to either in a few hours time.
There is so much to do here. College sports are premium in this area. You'll have to choose a college team. We have wonderful youth programs from sports, music, arts and more. Broadway shows, concerts, and dance venues are easily found. We have museums, local festivals and much more. There is never a lack of something to do.
This is truly a wonderful place to live!
