Jonathan,

Great concept.  Photo's certainly take what may appear as boring and spices it up.  We as Realtors should be savvy enough to add a picture and maybe it will help in improving the quality of photo's on our listings too.  Keep up the great work!

I can't help but wonder if vulgar photos will win a feature, considering some of the crappy posts that get featured.

I'm inspired.  I love photos.  Since I have to be by my phone so much, I limit my trips to the Post Office, bank, shop, previewing, etc. to sunny times when I can get some good photos.

I found, 20 years ago, when it took a decent 35mm camera and many trips to the photo shop for developing, that a good use of photos set agents apart from those that didn't use photos.  Photos have been an integral part of real estate practice for me since the very beginning.

When the digitals came out, I purchased 10 of the Mavicas for use by my agents.  Some used them faithfully and some didn't.  The ones who did sold more real estate.

Mmmm.  It's 11 degrees out.  I may wait a while.

WOW! Thank You so much everyone! I just found out that my photo was chosen for this!! I am so honored!

I actually took this photo last June '06 while on my first mountain bike trip ever, at Mohonk Mtn. in New Paltz. We got really (REALLY!) lost, stuck in a thunderstorm in the middle of no where (20 miles from our car), and thought we would NEVER find our way back to the parking lot. Everything went wrong that day! After hiding under an old bridge to get away from the thunder and lightening storm, I came out to find this beautiful sunset!! It definitely made the horrible day we were having worth it!! To make things better, there was a double rainbow behind us! I'll post that photo a little bit later!

 Thanks so much!! :-)

PS- I'll post my profile picture later today, I'm a little camera shy myself! Sorry!

To insert pictures without blogging, go to Localism.com. Login in (button on the top right). Your Login and Password are the same as your ActiveRain Login and Password.

Click on your "state" from the map or the list. Then, select the county on the left, then the city. (These will automatically pop up as you complete the step before it.)

Click on "[your city] Photos"; from the list on your top left. Click on "Upload photo" for [your city].

Click browse and select the photo from your computer. Then click "open" and it will transfer it to your location box. Click "upload photo" and you're done!

If you get an error after selecting "upload photo", try shrinking your photo caption/definition. If the photo definition is too long, it gives an error.

Awesome Shannon.

I lived in Orange County for 17 years.

Love the beach, but I do miss driving the Hudson Valley back roads and taking in the views

of Apple Orchards, Horse Farms, Mountains and farm stands.

Mohonk Mountain is Spectacular!

We should have these more often.  Perhaps individuals can start their own best of lists for their particular community and then tie that into localism. This was more of a note to self i believe.  With the amount of pictures we have on active rain and localism we could start their own istock like photo site.
