Fear is the most socially accepted sin in the Church. Fear is a serial killer, the prime suspect in the death of more people on the planet than all other diseases combined. Fear in every form has been linked to heart disease, cancer, autoimmune disorders, mental illness and many other sicknesses. Fear is the welcome mat to demonic activity in our lives. The prophet Isaiah wrote, “…You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear…” (Isaiah 54:14). When we reject fear, we live in peace. But if we allow fear to creep into our lives, we soon find ourselves oppressed, tormented and tortured.
Nehemiah’s cure for his people’s anxiety was simply to ”remember the Lord who is great and awesome.” Fear dismembers and disfigures our perspective of God, making Him a powerless pawn, controlled by our circumstances. But when we re-member the Lord and re-count His works, we begin to re-form our vision of His greatness in our hearts. We don't have anything to fear at all! Fear is a mirage and it's not real. We've found that whatever we fear will happen. Why? Whatever we are focused on becomes reality in our lives because we tend to drift towards whatever we are focused on.
Right now, our government is trying to make us fear. Right now our media wants us to fear. Why? Everyone in place on these mountains wants to a) remain on top of their mountain and b) control everything around them to do so. In order to defeat them soundly is to simply do this: DO NOT FEAR!
The fear of the reprecussions of what they tell us is coming is the worse part about the future and fear is not real. FEAR= False Evidence Appearing Real! And anxiety is low grade fear. So be anxious for nothing. Jesus is alive and well and still has the keys to ALL the kingdoms of this earth.
What can we do? Trust in the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul. He sees everything, He knows everything and He works all things together for the good of His children. Trust that the Lord knows how this all comes out. Trust that the Lord wanted this new Affordable Care Act for a good reason. Trust that God is not sitting on His throne today wringing His hands and wondering what America is doing right now. And pray for our leaders. Pray that the Spirit of the Living God falls on them to guide them in all wisdom and righteousness (all as it should be).
Fear lack of obedience to the Lord and nothing else. If you do that, you'll have nothing else to fear in this world or beyond. There is a train a coming and you don't need a ticket, just climb on board.
