Hi all. I just joined Active Rain. I am interested in learning the various ways in which I can not only learn but use active rain to leverage my business. I have been a practicing realtor for only 2 months, so I have a lot to learn. I would like to learn more about Localism.com. I would really appreciate your feedback on utilizing active rain to it's fullest and things that should be done when starting off in the real estate industry. By the way, do I really have to put a photo on everything?

Kim, welcome to Active Rain and to the real estate profession.  I've been blogging for a couple of weeks only and love all there is to learn here.

If you search "newbies" or go to the newbies group you will find a ton of resources to help you out.  It will take a lot of time to read it all, so do the salami method...one little bit at a time!

As for your picture.  There's no rule that says you have to but people generally like to put a face to a person, whether on a blog or your own website.

Best of luck and welcome aboard!

Thanks Maggie for the welcome. I appreciate it. I came across some correspondence where it was suggested that an agent establish themselves as an expert in the area they are targeting by publishing information about that area on Active Rain. Was that referring to simply blogging information or by establishing something through Localism.com? Which do you think would be more effective? With so much information it's almost like you need a starting point and I think I'll try with that suggestion.
