We Made our House a Home
Ed shares the excitement of buying a new house, and quickly turn it into a home where they will build family traditions, and enjoy holidays.
There is nothing like having your first Christmas in a new home. Ed shares the joy, and passion is apparent. As a Realtor, I enjoy seeing my buyers settle in and hearing their joy.
We Made our House a Home
As real estate agents we help people buy houses which become the shelter for their families; a place to plan futures; a structure that will become a home filled with memories. These are the same thoughts we have when we look for our own homes.
We have lived in our current home for 17 years. The criteria used was to minimize stairs so that we would be more comfortable as we got older. As we have a large family, we also wanted enough space to enjoy visitors and be able to move around easily.
We looked for almost a year and ultimately found exactly what we wanted, an 3100 square foot, 3 bedroom ranch with enough space to entertain. The main criteria was also met.
3 stairs to enter the house
3 stairs when bringing in the groceries
3 stairs when coming in from a long day of work
3 stairs when we get older and just can’t move as well.
Our home is on an acre of land on a cul-de-sac with some of the best neighbors one could ever want. There when you need help and always a wave coming and going.
The living areas of the house are an oversized kitchen with breakfast nook; a formal dining room which allows the table to extend to its full 12 feet and sits 16.
Our social area is a 500 square foot great room which has enough area to allow for the 10’ Christmas tree and enough area for Santa Claus to visit with 12-14 kids at our annual Christmas luncheon.
On warm summer days, the deck is the center of entertainment opening up onto a secluded back yard where no one can hear our laughter and all enjoy.
Home is where the heart is, and when we are home we relax, find solace and recharge our batteries.
