News at Norman reports that The Catawba Lands Conservancy is leading a group of free tours into otherwise closed off lands around Lake Norman. This is a one time opportunity that should not be missed! Space is limited - registration is required. Register at or 704.342.3330 x210. The Alder Trail: The trail crosses the picnic area, circles the peninsula between Norwood and Hicks creeks, and then skirts the edge of the lake.

Lake Shore Trail: The trail passes the boat launch and family campground as it winds along the lake shore.

Itusi Trail: Hiking: Hikers are allowed on the Itusi Trail, although hikers must yield to mountain bikers using this trail.
