One of the most mind boggling things for me to understand about blogging is SEO, we worry so much about if our blogs can be found or our placement on the search engines.  Yes its important but I think sometimes we tend to forget, its WEB 2.0 and we have to invite people in.

Face it social networking is all about letting people in and growing our own little communities.

The more readers you have the more visits you receive.  Building relationships on Web 2.0 to me is much more valuable than top placement on the web.

Often times...with Web 2.0 it's referrals, its people seeking your services..its people wanting you and no one else.

I continually learn new things about Web 2.0..its just amazing to me..I feel fortunate..while it's time consuming I am glad I am one of those that embrace it.

Today I received a call from our Top Producer of the Company, we were discussing twitter and facebook.

We discussed points on the rain and key words. She made my day..when she said she was glad she listened to me about Web 2.0 because she is doing everything she is supposed to according to the REALTOR magazine. I love when I am right.  :)

I realized my true value today.  Today I felt successful..and experienced a breakthrough a ahhhhha moment.  It seems they are really getting it and seeing it and believing it!  Good on to the next level.

While I might not appeal to everyone that reads or skims through my blogs, I know I appeal to some.

What I have gotten out of it so far has been rich, very rewarding and sometimes humbling.

I believe if you really want to be successful..work Web 2.0 hard.  Like never before...if you are a blogger you have the edge...and you are so ahead of the game.

This is the direction our world is turning whether we like it or not....we can either embrace and go for it or we can seek employment elsewhere.

If you really want to know how to blog...and really understand the concept of Social Networking...take 40 minutes out of your day and sit and watch this amazing video.

check it out...there is quite a selection.

>>>>>This is one of the best interviews I have ever seen with Ardell DellaLoggia and Teresa Boardman.>>>

I am fired up...I swore  I wasn't going to blog over the weekend but you know what if Ardell gets a customer a day I think I can spend a little time and post just about everyday.

While I only recognized Ardell and Teresa...pay attention to what they all say..each offering valuable tips that I wish I knew when this phenomenon of blogging started. The entire panel got it...now I am fired up!

p.s.  I only agree with a portion of the panel..They posed a question...Should everyone blog?  I think so..do you?

Hi Midori,

I agree, but you also have to get them to your website or blog so they can join your community, so I think you do need to worry about SEO and search engine placement a little bit.  Once you have built your community, then you are in good shape.

Bill-I agree we should concern ourselves with SEO but building relationships will help that along.  I have excellent web placement....but it happens naturally if you blog about your area, if you blog on topics your network wants to read etc. etc.  With all the websites out there...and all the blogs out there you have to invite people in....market it and market it heavy!

Also Ardell is saying she has customers everyday because of her blog...the video is well worth watching.

Katerina-to me there is nothing like seeing real live bloggers earning a living through their blogs...you can have all the experts but to really see it and hear it and how they accomplish this seems very simple...I need that kind of guidance simple to the point but effective.  Thanks for commenting and I will see you on your post!

Mmmmmmmmmidori... you summed it up perfectly with "Building relationships on Web 2.0 to me is much more valuable than top placement on the web"...

That point seems to get lost in the race for SEO position or between the next batch of social network invitations.

The only real way to stand out from the crowd these days is to deliver consistent, useful, quality content to attract and keep a loyal following, sort of like our own personal fan club.

A zillion things & people are trying to get our attention on the web, we all have limited time and attention so we have to make the most of it if we want someone to pay attention to us. As you said, it's all about the relationship!

Ahhhh the master arrives!  Yes I know you understand about relationship building..with one of the biggest groups on the rain!  I think we have to help our blogs and websites along and market them but most importantly local, effective consumer driven info.  I did a search engine search yesterday...blogging seems to take care of it!  I must admit I changed a few key words in my site..all of my blogs appear higher than my site in most instances....Have a wonderful weekend Marti...

Hi Midori,
Ok, I must make time to watch this video.  Thanks for posting it.  We are still learning as blogging continues to evolve.

Good stuff.  I'm working on this whole blogging thing really hard but I haven't gotten it down pat yet with my community.  i work largely with the Latino community and it seems like it doesn't work for this segment of the market.  Maybe I'm doing something wrong.  None the less I will watch the video and continue to learn about this.

I'll bet you wish I wasn't reading your blog tips =P

But seriously, here's my dilemma. I've said many times that I have a fairly large channel on You Tube. It's not for real estate. It's strictly for play. The problem is, the bigger your You Tube presence, the more the psychos come after you. But that's my hobby. I LOVE the social network I have there. It's my down time from real estate.

Hence the problem. The wider my net is spread for real estate, the greater the chances I'll be found by a psycho You Tube stalker. I've already made the mistake a couple of times, of accidentally claiming a business blog through a play account. Fortunately, I was able to quickly delete the claim, then login to the correct account. Technorati has been the biggest problem because it always resorts to my original account, which I claimed with the same user name I have on You Tube. AAAHHH!

Maybe I should post this as a blog and see if anyone has any tips.

I get more valid responce off of this site, and my Point 2 agent free web site than everything else combined...If I had not started blogging here, and learned what I learned, and met who I have met....I would have given up on what I had been dreaming about doing full time for the last 15 years that I was raising a family and running a regular business...Blogging and SEO is very important to our success...it represents most of my progress

Lisa Hill-I love that you read my blogs..I would be a liar if I said I did not read yours. :)  To me if it helps...well it helps the entire profession.  Besides you keep me pumped up as well.  Its nice to see other's in our area embracing all of technology.  You keep me on my toes.  Besides you never know when we might be working side by side sometime or across from one another at a closing table...I have heard of stranger things.

As far as your physcho's I don't think they are just on youtube...I have had a couple myself..it sounds horrible..but it is the nature of the beast.  It used to happen to me with print publications as well.  I don't know what the answer is but I will say if it does not feel right it usually is not.report it...block it....if you feel uncomfortable...you know what makes you comfortable.  There is no answer...

BTW, some of my solutions to issues come straight from Activerain... maybe a post about this issue is in order!

Midori, Web 2.0 is all about sharing and being conversational. With all of us knowing many across the country when I think of Daytona Beach I think of Midori. When you think Dallas-Ft. Worth who is your favorite Realtor? : ) Those that haven't encompassed blogs just from the viewpoint of "learning" I think are missing out.

I disagree -- I don;t think everyone should blog.  Many people have a great blogging personality.  Some people have the ability to communicate effectively.  Some that don't, have the personality to make up for the lack of the lack of good communication skills.  but some just don't have it, and they are the ones that should stick with other communication and marketing methods.  I am thinking of one person in my office , right now, who will never and should never blog....
