New Ice Rink for Hockey & Skating Near St. George, UT
There is a new ice rink for hockey and skating near St. George, UT. The Youth and Enthusiasts Together of Ice group is getting ready for this winter by inviting children and adults to sign up for skating classes and hockey teams. The portable ice rink will be set up next to the Cedar City Community Center in Southern Utah. So now people of all ages in Southern Utah can have fun on the ice.
Currently, the start date is set for November 1, 2013. However, this could change due to weather conditions. Because of the 2,0000 community members who support a public ice rink, you can now participate in hockey games, ice skating for fun or learn how to figure skate through available classes.
The rink will be a great addition for this winter’s sporting activities. It will be funded and operated by an allocation from the Recreation Arts and Parks tax. The rink owners will pay a monthly lease for use of the land, and they will provide additional access to the community center and its concession stands.
For the beginning of the hockey season, Northern Utah’s Korth Rebel Foundation is preparing to give away hockey equipment on Saturday at the Steheli West building by North Airport Road. Equipment will be available in various sizes for those who register for hockey. However, they are giving away equipment on a first come first serve basis.
The seasonal, semi-permanent ice rink can be found at 2090 Royal Hunte Dr. in Cedar City, UT. Depending on how well this year goes, the rink could become a more permanent fixture to the community. The community will also get to enjoy figure skating groups from all around who compete on state and national levels.
