Name That photo: What is the name of this Flower?

Doesn't look real does it? Well this flower was planted back in the 1800's, at least that was the information provided to me. The gentlemen said it was a hybrid but never told me the name of this flower. Looking at this photo, is anyone familiar with the name of this flower?
