Ever live in a small town where all the residents look forward to one event all year long? Well, all residents of Washington Parish count down the days until the World's Largest Free Fair takes place. And you should get excited about it too!
In October, the enthusiastic crowds, once again flow through the front entrance into our beautiful fair grounds to enjoy the Washington Parish Free Fair. It is a family fair. Folks come from all over the country to enjoy the excellent exhibits.
There is the Mile Branch Settlement. Here the visitor will be heartily welcomed by the many costumed hosts and experience a trip into our past as he visits the various log cabins and buildings filled with antiques and hospitality. Opening Ceremonies and Queen contest held Tuesday evening.
The fair kicks off officially with parade at 10 am through the streets of Franklinton, making its way to the fairgrounds.
