The real estate market in Hyde Park NY  showed a downward trend in sales for September. What a difference a month makes, in August there were 19 sales in Hyde Park, this month just 5.  I could assume August was the height of the summer selling season when typically there are more sales.  It could have been due to consumers being a bit concerned about  interest rates trending up so they went ahead and purchased a home.  Then, I compared September 2012 and noticed there were 15 sales or 3 times what sold this September.

At the same time, there were 9 properties with  offers or  contract which could lead to a higher sales volume in October.

The homes listed during the month range in price from $105,000 – $979,900.   The overall inventory for Hyde Park single family homes at the time of this report was approximately 129 .   Most of the homes were priced under $300,000.  There were also 2 homes listed for over a million dollars.

Hyde Park NY

Hyde park is  one of the few communities in the US that is home to a Presidential Library.  This is the FDR library which attracts visitors from all over the world.  It was recently renovated to bring it up to current museum standards, having personally visited the location since the upgrade I know you would enjoy your visit, so many interesting things to see.

Jennifer, it tends to be the other way for me.  August tends to be slower than September most years for me and this year that was what happened.  But it looks like it works the other way around where you are even though it is only about 90 miles away.
