WHAT WE CAN DO TO DROP GAS PRICES.....

Subject: Dropping Gas Prices

I was talking to a realtor friend of mine who's husband sales insurance to truckers and she said something that got me to thinking. She said he has lost 7 clients in the last week or so. The gas prices are so high they can't operate and make a profit. If the cost of trucking goes up, then what will the cost of the items being trucked do?

Have you ever thought about what all the things that the price of gas effects? Just about everything we buy was at one time trucked to get to the store. If more money is coming out of the budget to by gas then people aren't going to have the money to spend in the community on extras. They will have to cut somewhere because the wages aren't going up, not in Arkansas anyway.

I began to think how this will effect the Real Estate market.

If you can't afford gas, buyers will be on the web doing more searching instead of driving around in their cars. Buyers may not be able to budget in the price of the home they want even though they may qualify. tHEY MAY WANT TO LIVE NEAR THE FACTORY THEY WORK AT. We have already began to see this in Crawford and Sebastian County in Arkansas.

This could and will effect each market in the near future.

I could go on....... But do you see what I mean?

I received this e-mail from my cousin in LA this week. Do you think something like this could help? Let me know your thoughts or if you have a plan.......

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT  WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive.  It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton.  If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MO RE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day"  campaign that was going around last April or May!
It's worth your consideration.  Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer, and it might go higher!!  Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action.  The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea has come up with a plan that can really work.  Please read on and join with us!

By now you're proba bly thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap.  Me too !   It is currently $3.19 for regular unleaded in my town.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!  And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How?  Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together t o force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices.

If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers.  It's really simple to do!  Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people.  If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ...  and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the tim e the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers.
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it.....  THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people.  That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people....  Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician.  But I am .  so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take?  If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably b e contacted within the next 8 days !! !

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!
Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.  I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN.  THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

                                  Keep it going

Hi Debbie,  Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention.  Exxon Mobil has the highest quarterly and annual profits of any US company in the history of our nation!  How about that!  With 11.7 billion in Net Income (Profit) in the last quarter (3months) of 2007.  They made $1,300.00 per second in 2007.  It seems to me this should be illegal to gouge the public like they are doing.  There is such a thing as usuary in state law that prevents companies providing credit from charging too much.  Why is there not something in the law to stop oil companies from charging too much?  We need to talk to our lawmakers about this as well as doing like your article says.  For me, it's goodbye Exxon Mobil.  You won't get any more of my money!

I'm not sure if that's a hoax or not but it is ridiculous that Exxon is making all this money while gas prices just keep going up. I wonder if having a president who is an oil man has anything to do with it?

I'm not sure about the president.  Do you remember back when there was a gas shortage and the price went over night?  The president put a freeze on the gas prices.  Maybe that is why he hasn't but a freeze on gas today.

Have A Great Day!

Hi Pam,   I just talked to one of my clients and he is in the oil business and he told me prices are not going down any time soon.  So if the American public has to keep paying these ridiculous prices for gas how much money will be left for anything else, like houses, food, clothes, recreation?  Good bye to the lifestyle we have known.  It is time to cry out if we want any changes!

I am with you on that.  All my life I have heard that if prices keep gong up we will go into a ression.  I never paid any attention to it.  I am 49 now and the price of gas is making me think we are headed that way.  What do you think we can do to stop this or slow it down.  If all the Realtor's get together maybe we can do something.  But What?  Do you have any ideas or plan.

Thanks,

Debbie

Debbie:

Good post. One thing we did to help lessen the hit was to move close enough to walk to work. I work out of my home office and my wife is just about 3/4 of a mile from her work. She sometimes dives and sometimes walks but in any event a tank of gas in her car lasts forever.

That is great I wish I lived closer.  I am one of those pople who lives on 40 acres in the country and loves it.  My husband is going to park his diesel and get a vechile that doesn't use as much gas.

Have A Great Day,

Debbie

Would it look weird if a Realtor showed up on a scooter to show houses? :)
