The Ocean View Is Over There

We all have special talents! Mine? Mine is showing ocean view homes on days when it's so foggy that you can't see the ocean. I can almost count on the fact that it will happen. I warn clients when we are in the middle of our June Gloom, but fall and winter are normally such beautiful times of the year in Laguna.

So I was surprised this week when I had a relocation client come in for a few days to see ocean view homes. Yep...you guessed it! Cloudy/foggy days!

It's in times like this that I appreciate the listing pictures. No listing agent worth their salt is going to neglect a lovely ocean view in the listing pictures. So when I look outside to see that my car has disappeared in the back of the parking lot....I always make sure I have a nice color copy of the listing pictures.

"Yes Mr. Buyer....there is a beautiful ocean view! Right over there!!"

That would be something to see!  (Or not see!)  It's days like this that you really depend on the listing agent's pictures.

Maybe you should keep an ocean view postcard in your purse, just for those times when you have fog or cloud cover.  Would certainly be good for a laugh.

When I show Wilshire Corridor condos which have a great view of the ocean the standard line is "you can see the ocean and Catalina on a clear day".  Almost never happens :(

I am continually amazed how many high-end homes are not adequately represented by enough of the right photos!  Makes me sad.

Karen -- the one problem is if the listing agent did NOT get that all important View picture to put on the listing - for whatever reason.  Then maybe the option is to help them "see" it in other ways, even without the picture.

What a bummer to have the clouds & fog blocking your view.  Those ocean views in Laguna are must-see!

Take a few ocean photos and keep them on you iPhone/iPad to show what the view would be like on a clear day.

Karen~ Murphy's law strikes all of us at one time or another! We have a similar challenge sometimes with mountain views.

Great idea Kathy! Not even Mother Nature can stop you from showing the ocean views.  :)
