Whether you are considering a move to Highlands Ranch or currently a resident of our great community, you'll want to mark your calendar for these "don't miss" Highlands Ranch Christmas events (or as some may prefer: Highlands Ranch Holiday Events).
The Events
Don't miss the premiere Highlands Ranch Christmas event, the Hometown Holiday, which kicks off on Friday, December 6th, from 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM at Town Center. Dress warmly and make sure you are there by 5 PM to see the Tree Lighting ceremony. Then stick around and visit the many vendors who will be there providing free hot chocolate and apple cider along with arts and crafts for the kids. There will also be live reindeer on hand, hay rides, caroling and even Santa himself.
If you don't have little ones, check out the Sparkling Wine Tasting ($) hosted by The Tattered Cover bookstore in Town Center (also on December 6th). There will be live music, wine tasting and appetizers to enjoy while you browse the bookstore. It's a social event to benefit the Highlands Ranch Scholarship Fund. Once you've had your fill, head outside to enjoy the Hometown Holiday festival mentioned above.
Next on the Highlands Ranch Christmas Events list is the Highlands Ranch Christmas Celebration. Taking place on Saturday, December 7th at the Highlands Ranch Mansion, this is another great family event. Both Santa and Buddy the Elf will be present for the kids. There will also be reindeer games for the kids, singing and food. Fun for the whole family!
Contests
For those residents who like to go "all-out" with their exterior Christmas decorating, make sure you enter the House Decorating Contest. Wells Fargo is sponsoring cash prizes for 1st-3rd place. The entry deadline is Monday, December 5th. The public can also vote online for their favorite home.
Music
Nothing gets you in the holiday mood more than the classic sounds of Christmas! Get your tickets early and bring the whole family to the Showtime at Southridge Holiday Concert ($) peformed by the Highlands Ranch Swing Shift Band on December 13th from 7-8 PM.
Food & Gifts
A favorite amongst the kids is Breakfast with Santa ($). Your ticket includes a pancake breakfast, crafts, and time to write a letter to Santa. What happens next will amaze the kids as Santa, himself, shows up to take the letters and provide a gift for each child. Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 14th from 9-10:30 AM.
The Highlands Ranch Christmas events schedule wraps up with something for those last-minute shoppers. Visit the Highlands Ranch Winter Market the weekend of December 14th and 15th. Teaming up with the Denver Farmer's Market, there will be lots of unusual gift ideas, handmade items and food. Drop by between 10 AM - 2 PM either Saturday or Sunday.
With just a little bit of planning you can hit most, if not all, of the Highlands Ranch Christmas events and make this the most memorable holiday season ever!
