Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons in New England. At Pond Spring Village in Beacon Falls, Connecticut we encourage local residents and tourists to take in all this season has to offer. This week temperatures have begun to slide towards freezing which means this years leaf peeping season is almost at its end. There are still a few more days, or possibly weeks to enjoy the vibrant colors of Fall.

While there are plenty of trees and forests in our state there are some driving routes which are better than others for viewing. Some helpful tips are planning your drive on weekdays to avoid traffic or even traveling to the less popular shore line for something a little different! When planning you route it may help to take a look at a leaf peeping map to help you find the most convenient drive and to find a place along the way to have lunch or grab a cup of coffee.

It's always fun to know what your looking at and searching for different types of leaves (especially is you are in the company of children) there are several species of trees and colors to search for in Connecticut. It's also interesting to teach little ones why leaves change color making your leisurely drive fun and educational. This year's estimated dates of peak foliage are October 3rd until November 15 so there are still a few more weeks to plan your visit.

If your excursion takes you near the Naugatuck Valley please feel free to stop by and visit us at Pond Spring Village. We are an active adult community in Beacon Falls, CT.
