Moss BeachImagine the sounds of crashing waves as you step from your home and that faint sound of seals barking in the distant. That smell of the salt water flowing over the hillside, throughout the harbor to your doorstep. The light dripping of fog that will only stay until the sun burns it away. Driving to town you watch as an airplane takes off and flies over the Pillar Point Harbor where a massive old-time ship has come for a visit. Surfers sit in the water at the beach, just hoping that some wave might come take them for a ride and if not, they sit just to talk to one another.

Moss Beach Trail

The sounds, smells, and sights of Moss Beach are indeed there and have proved not to disappoint. With just over a population of 3,000, Moss Beach has the cozy feel of home whenever you wander and yet is so close to the Silicon Valley and San Fransisco that you can commute easily.

Fitzgerald Marine ReserveYou can count on a glorious time when you come to Moss Beach, California. This friendly community is home to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. A wonderful safe haven for the California Harbor Seal and many other sea creatures that can be found in the tide pools there. If airplanes and cars are of more interest to you, join us at the Half Moon Bay Airport located in Moss Beach for Dream Machines. Cars of old and new, a monster truck derby, air shows, old time planes to explore and a wonderful little cafe to eat on site that comes with a great view of planes taking off and landing. Dream Machines is the an annual event during the third weekend in April.

Moss Beach Distillery

If you enjoy great places to eat, come join us for a great meal at the Historic Moss Beach Distillery. Originally established in 1927 as a speakeasy, it then was converted into a successful restaurant after the repeal of the Prohibition in 1933 and has been serving great food and spooky entertainment since. The mystery of the Moss Beach Distillery that has lead multiple paranormal seekers to her doors. The legend of the Blue Lady comes with a murder mystery that is said to have occurred on the bluffs near the restaurant. This ghost lady remains, reminding people of her existence with swaying chandeliers, laughter and her image that appears in the women's bathroom on occasion. With great food and this legend to entertain, the Distillery is a place you definitely want to check out!

Pillar Point HarborThe Pillar Point Harbor also is home to numerous places to eat, shop and explore! Currently, the old time ship Lady Washington (as seen from the popular ABC's drama Once Upon a Time) has made birth and will be offering trips out on the ocean this weekend. However, if you miss it, don't fret! Pillar Point Harbor offers chances like this every so often from ships such as Lady Washington and the famous Interceptor from Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean.
