If you haven't already noticed, down at the bottom of your ActiveRain screen is a new feature tab/link entitled "Help/FAQ"

This tab actually directs you into a modified group that will be moderated by some ActiveRain heavy hitters - Brad Andersohn, Jeff Turner, Jason Crouch, Mike Muellar, to name a few.

Here is the purpose/vision for this group:

    • The purpose of the 'HELP/FAQ' group is to provide our fellow members with helpful advice and answers to commonly asked questions about all things ActiveRain/Localism.

You don't have to be a member to access all the valued articles contained here.

    • A number of veteran ActiveRain Members have been selected to help moderate this Group and determine/monitor the content that will be stored here.

If you wish to contribute an article that will benefit our membership and is relevant to the purpose of this Group, join the Group, publish your article to your own blog, and then contact one of the Group Moderators to have your article considered for inclusion.

    • Contributors must either pose a meaningful and valid question (FAQ) concerning a function/feature of ActiveRain/Localism, and along with the question, provide a practical and detailed response/answer; or offer a tutorial regarding a feature/function of ActiveRain/Localism.

All posts shall contain the tags: 'help' and 'faq'

    • In addition, the following tags will also be used, if applicable:

'tutorial'  'profile'  'blogging'  'how to'  'localism'  'outside blogs'  'referrals'  'groups'

    • The submitted posts shall contain only information relevant to the question/answer or tutorial. Any self-promotional information within the body of the post, i.e., links, website, contact or subscribe buttons, shall be kept to a minimum.

Posts submitted to the "HELP/FAQ" Group are subject to review, and may be modified or deleted, as determined by the Group Moderators.

It is our intention to make this modified group THE primary destination for answers to all questions concerning the functions and features of this platform. As always, the input of our membership is welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Rich,

Thank you for pointing that out.  I was looking for the help button the other day and couldn't find one, and was too embarrassed to ask.  I have seen it in the past, but it wasn't where I thought when I looked.

Hello Moderator Baker:I am a newbie, I had my 1st blog deleted from this group and I am trying to understand why so I won't make the same mistake again. I did go thru the FAQ's to figure this out so I wouldn't bother you. Please explain why my topic didn't fit? Are we only supposed to introduce ourselves on this site? (I still need to do that) I apologise for not following the rules. Can I send my blog you deleted to another site? How do I resend it?

Fantastic idea.  You guys are finding some great ways to answer all the questions and get everyone on a level playing field.  Thanks!  BTW, I love Margaret Woda's comment... girls in the sandbox!  She's right, there are some great bloggers of both genders. Looking forward to reading FAQ posts.

HELLO RICH: Nice to meet you! Thank you for following up on my question. No one seems to give me answers.  I try to find the rules & regs but I get lost in the maze of all the information.  My blog was in the newbie group. My title was  $$$ 10,000 $$$ for door knocking? Could you please explain what I did wrong so I can be included in this community.  Thank you again for helping this newbie out.

Windy:  If you post to a group, and it gets deleted, typically it means that your post didn't meet the criteria for posting to that particular group. In the instance of the AR Newbie Group, articles that are contributed to that group are usually ones that contain tips or advice to new members on how to use this network and its features/functions effectively. I believe that there is a link that gives posting guidelines in the left hand sidebar in the group. We are attempting to compile as many answers here in this group as possible, to make all the rules and regs much easier to find. We just started this group, so it will take a little time to move all the information here. Feel free to look me up and e-mail me with any questions you may have.
