OH TENNESSEE, MY TENNESSEE
I am proud to be an American, and blessed to be a resident of TENNESSEE. Everywhere you go and everywhere you look, you find the touch of God’s hand on the State of TENNESSEE. From the fertile Memphis Delta to the majestic Smokey Mountains, all around Chattanooga, and throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee: you find such special things.
Nature in all her beauty—dressed in a rainbow of colors, adorned with the shimmer of lakes and rivers, and best of all: filled with friendly, helpful, kind and generous people. Our State is known as the Volunteer State because we care about others, here and all across America. Come here: experience that “down-home” genuineness, that “golden rule” spirit, and that “love thy neighbor” warmth. Take a vacation and come experience real southern hospitality.
More states border TENNESSEE than any other state in our Union—eight: Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas and Missouri. Travel to and from the Southeastern United States along the US Interstate system crossing thru TENNESSEE as I-24, I-26, I-40, I-55, I-65, I-75, and I-81, as well as numerous three-digit bypass systems like 840, 440, etc.
TENNESSEE is home to music: Jazz, Country, Bluegrass, Pop, Western, and Gospel. Our Capital City, Nashville, is nationally known as Music City USA: home of the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium. Nashville is also known as the Athens of the South and is home to the Parthenon. Historical Homes of three US Presidents: Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk, and Andrew Johnson grace our State.
TENNESSEE has become home to numerous automotive manufacturers: General Motors, Ford Glass, Nissan and Volkswagen; and countless suppliers. The economy is very diverse as well: medical, pharmaceutical, chemical, insurance and publishing industries drape our landscape. Sports and Entertainment fill our evenings and weekends: NFL Titans, NHL Predators, Triple A Baseball Nashville Sounds, in addition to NCAA Football, Baseball, Basketball, Swimming, Golf, Tennis, etc. Nashville has recently been selected by the SEC as host city for multiple Southeastern Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball tournament sites.
Outdoors-men love TENNESSEE. Hunting, Fishing, Boating, Hiking, and Horseback riding are very popular, as are Camping and Exploring. Rural living within commuting distance of major urban areas is very popular with those who love having some acreage. Farm tractors, horses, trail bikes and AT Vs dot the landscape.
TENNESSEE is in the heart of the Bible Belt, and we make no apologies for being close to God; in fact, I often refer to Nashville as the “Vestibule of Heaven.”
You cannot live in such an awe inspiring place without sensing the presence of God—it will put a smile on your face and song in your heart. Looking for a home? You can find a place to work, to grow, or to retire? Come to TENNESSEE and See for yourself. “Y’all Come.”
