Minnetonka Homes for Sale Tidbits: MNsure.org - The Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obamacare passed in 2010, effective October 1, 2013, gives Americans an access to affordable health care insurance plans. In an interview with Josh Haberman, a licensed insurance agent and owner and co-founder of the Alexander Haberman Agency, he talked about Minnesota health care changes. Read on if you have plans to purchase Minnetonka homes for sale, settle in Minnetonka for good and know more about health care in Minnesota.

Minnesota has now decided to run its own exchange and it’s located at MNsure.org. This is an online health insurance marketplace where people in Minnesota can research and ask their questions about the health care changes. This is where they NEED to go if they want to get subsidies for their health insurance. It is important to note though, that there are also other insurances available off that exchange. If you are looking for health insurance information on that exchange, you’ll be seeing a lot but not everything.

The starting point for everyone is figuring out their options. Part of the options are evaluating the services found on MNsure.org or off the exchange. Haberman also emphasized that no fees are charged with getting an insurance broker as well as with the "navigators". Insurance navigators in MNsure.org could help you for the enrollment for a certain health care, but they are not professional health care or health insurance advisers.

The MNsure.org exchange is also a comparison shop for health insurance options. The tax subsidy will be based on the income that you have. People who have an income of $23,000 a year for a family of four should definitely enroll for the exchange and could qualify for the Minnesota insurance. If your income is about $90,000 above, then you probably might want to consult to a healthcare insurance professional because you may not qualify for the tax subsidy and you may find better options for you off the exchange. Some people will be paying more for their insurance coverage; others will be getting more, depending on what health insurance you want to purchase. The process is shorter by enrolling in a health insurance off the exchange.

MNsure.org is the site that gives reduced health care coverage. Take note that there’s an open enrollment period for the exchange. So, if you don’t enroll in the exchange, and if something happens to you, you may be on your own.  You have to wait for the next enrollment period. When you sign-up in the exchange, the rates are locked in for a year, so you won’t get surprised with the charges. The rates are reasonably low for all coverage, perfect for newer families who just purchased Minnetonka homes for sale.
