Is It Just United Healthcare Or Do Others Do This As Well?

Hi Barbara-Jo - Sadly, the days when you could pick a healthcare provider and just stick with them are long gone. We have to re-evaluate the plans every year because they are constantly changing - and that doesn't mean that they're adding value - quite the opposite.

Health Insurmace Companies are frankly a huge pain in the butt for everyone. I am sorry to hear about your trouble. Maybe things we get rectified with St. Lukes before the new year arrives. 

All I gotta say on the subject is that we are all going to be shaking our heads a lot until this whole thing gets worked out.

Hi Barbara Jo, I agree with you on that.  I wish I had the answer, but I do know that what we are doing is not working and it is especially troubling for our seniors and those who have trouble affording basic health care.  Maybe if we required Congress to sign up for whatever health care plan they decided was right for the rest of us they would actually do something besides the nothing we are used to from them.

Unfortunately, it is only going to get worse...but Washington doesn't care, they have private coverage!

I agree that this sounds very frustrating, having to switch over is not fun at all.

I had United for years when I was iwth a large employer group and loved them.  But I have many lately say under the new healthcare reform, Aetna and BCBS is making a comeback over United. 

I feel like everything is constantly changing and what I knew yesterday has already changed. Will have to get re-educated in the next couple of weeks.

I am going through the selection process now, Barbara-Jo.  It's not easy.  Are you using a Medicare Advantage plan?

I have friends that are using Humana and Blue Cross and like it. There are many choices but it isn't time yet to do the research. I will be following to see how it turns out.
