1. Cut 2 x 4 to lengths for center post and 2 side pieces

2. Cut a sharp angle on end of center post

3. Cut a slot in the center post for the wire

4. Remove wood from channel with a chisel

5. Set the cable in the groove

6. Cut twi 1 x 6 boards to length and cut 45 degree angle in end

7. Trim arms at 45 degrees and cut the four 1 x 6 boards to length

8. Layout the pieces and mark where they will go.

9. Use construction adhesive and nails to fasten the pieces together

10. Bore dowel holes through the asssmebly

11. Use adhesive and drive dowels through holes

12. Trim dowels flush with sides

13. Clamp 2 x 10 board to sturdy surface and bevel rip at 45 degrees

14. Bevel sut 2 x 10's to length for the base

15. Apply construction adhesive to base boards and fasten with nails

16. Sink post into ground with wood block and sledgehammer

17. Twist 1" hook screw under bottow of the arm

18. Hang the lantern and connect wires.
