According to the September real estate data, Dutchess County NY home sales was down slightly when compared to last September. There were 3 less homes sold this year, a drop of 2.2 percent.
The more significant drop was between September and August of this year; 50 less homes sold in September than in August. It was good to see a 6.5 percent drop in the number of days a property would be on the market. when compared to same time last year there were 8 fewer days. At the same time the inventory and purchase offer at the beginning of the month increased when compared to September 2012.

Remember there were 50 more sales in August, that made a big difference since it dropped the absorption rate to 10.10 months which was a good sign. In September the number of sales went down and the inventory increased, resulting in the absorption rate increasing to 14.91 months.
