In addition to selling real estate, I also manage two Homeowner Associations. One is a more upscale gated community. The other is a lower end subdivision.
One of the joys of doing this (sarcasm noted) is the annual HOA meetings.
Neither is fun. The upscale folks manufacture silly stuff about thngs like cutting trees that block the site line of drivers. They would rather save a useless tree (yellow pines grow like weeds here, and are generally considered a nuisance in yards) than a human life. But you still have to listen to their drivel like you are not really going to cut it down when they finish talking.
The other group usually complains about finance, and that is a complicated discussion because well over half of them don't understand how to read a financial statement. After you explain it to them they still don't understand, so they just rewind the same ridiculous discussion. Because they don't understand, they are always suspicious that someone is stealing the money.
Somebody has to do it.
