When is it time for me?

I raised my children, they are successful and out of college. I am bored now b/c they no longer come over for dinner.  They no longer come over to eat after soccer practice, baseball practice...I no longer see my friend's children...they've graduated from college...It was so much fun...I loved it!

Fast forward...after my last child went to college I moved from PA to FL...I love it...while they were in college I saw them often. Now, they have graduated and they are "stuck" in job's where, as newbies...they have little vacation...2 week's a year is the norm for a new employee,,,

Geeze, do I ever miss those college dazzzz...when they brought their friends down to Florida for a week...

Times flies so fast...it seem's like yesterday...now I take off to go see them,,,

POINT HERE: Enjoy your children while you can...the fun for me is now fabulous memories....I would love to have them back...When they all came over after school and said, "Mama Monsour...what's for dinner?" and I scrambled to cook something up...I always did, they helped me cook as well...now I miss them and that frustration for the moment.

Live and love each day with your children...one day, you will miss your children and their friends....

So happy to hear when my children's friend's call and reminisce with me...or when they call and tell me how well they are doing...it's PRICELESS.

Treasure your children...they grow up so fast!

Hi Karen.  I have a little girl who will be two on April 30.  Her name is Erin.  She is beautiful and I try to appreciate her every day.

Mine are grown but still living at home at least most of the time.  I had a moment when they were gone but now they are back and I am longing for my peace and quiet, lol.  But you are right you have to appreciate them because before long they will be gone out on their own.

Ken,

I can only imagine. I miss those day's with my children. Enjoy every day...they grow up so fast..

I still talk to my dad for advice and he is 80...

Having a child is a huge responsibility...,if you are there for them...and you support them they will be fine.,,good luck, love her, teach her. The first 6 years of her live and the way you treat her, and the respect/manner's that she learns will go with her forever...Ahhh!!! Those first 6 years are so important!

Good luck and give her a hug for me,,,I am thankful for the time I dedicated to my children at that age...,it paid off very well.

OK, I have to brag:

#1 child. graduated Phi Beta Kappa - one of the best in the US

#2 child Valedictorian of his class and an honor graduate from college

#3 child Captain of her college soft ball team, #17 in the state she was raised in for golf...graduated with honor's from college, is an accountant, with an IT minor working on her master's...

my point...be involved in their lives...(((good luck)))!!!!

Jesse & Kathy,

If I would have to do it over again, I would...even though sometimes it seemed like it was a pain to run them to practice, I would do it again in a heart beat...Now that they are grown, I'm going to COMPLAIN THAT I MISS THEM!

Each day, I take time just to spend 10 minutes with my kids, because I know how quickly they grow up.  I feel you.  I've got two left, one is married, one in college, a 16 yr daughter who I feel already wants to be out of my life any second of the day and my 13 yr old son who I now cling to because already I am feeling a bit lonely without the other two.

Karen, so true, that time does fly. When I hear our "kids" say they can't wait for their own children to get older, I always have to say "watch what you wish for". It happens so fast, as a young adult I had those same wishes some days. Now in-turn our last son will be married in July, geez I wish I had those days back now.

Great ThemThem to your "Kids".

Tina,

I am so lonely with them all grown up.  I lost my daughter's dog ( you know how you inherit their pet's when the leave??? ) last September.  I might have to get another,,,they are so good for you.  It used to make me get up from this computer and walk them...geeze, I gained 6 pounds since I don't walk the dog anymore...then again...I could "walk myself...LOL"

Duane,

Like the old saying goes, "Time flies when you are having fun!" I love when I see my children. They have all graduated from college :-) and my youngest is working on her masters.  The oldest graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and the son graduated with honor's so...I'm happy,,,but I miss them so bad! Lucky for me, they all graduated with honor's of some kind...  :-D proud to say!
