If you haven’t already been there, don’t miss the final weekend of the 2013 Georgia State Fair.  If you've already visited, you might want to come back for this weekends activities.

Now through Sunday you can still get in on the fun at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, GA. If you can make it, you might run into me there. My sweet tooth and I plan to be there for the Best Baker’s Contest on Saturday, November 2nd.

Activities include rides, exhibits and concessions, the ever-popular petting zoo, a sea lion show, a grizzly (bear) experience, a magic show and the Puppeteer Rockers. Friday night you can rock with Atlanta favorites, the Howling Tongues, and Sunday's concert will wrap it up with a performance by R & B recording artists, The S. O. S. Band. There will be lots more than I can list here, so com on out and join in the fun.

If you bring your own fabulous home-baked cookies, cobbler or pecan pie to the baking competition on Saturday, you could be the winner of the title of the Georgia State Fair’s Best Baker!

Besides the pride and prestige of being "Best", there’s money in it, too.

Best Pecan Pie, and Best Peach Cobbler winners will go home with $100 cash prizes, and the winners in each age group for the Best Cookies will land the winner a $50 prize.

Atlanta Motor Speedway is located approximately 30 miles south of Atlanta on U.S. Highway 19 & 41 in Hampton in Henry County. The track's physical address is 1500 Tara Place, Hampton, Ga 30228.
