The Los Angeles Times is running a feature article in the Sunday Real Estate section on March 16. The article paints a very clear picture of how home staging helps sell homes, even in this volatile real estate market.

The article The Benefits of Staging a Home, written by Ann Brenoff, is available for viewing on-line.

Ann interviewed Connie Tebyani of Platinum Home Staging, and me. The article gives a very balanced view of how home staging works, and how it can benefit home sellers and real estate agents.

While this article will provide great promotional benefits for both Connie and myself, I think that it will also benefit the staging industry as a whole. No doubt, when a well respected newspaper like the Los Angeles Times says that staging is beneficial, it lends great credence to our industry as a whole.

Our motto says it all: "From condos to cottages to castles, we don't sell homes but we know what makes homes sell." CONGRATS, read the whole thing and it was very complimentary article.  Your work of course is first class.  And they pretty fairly depicted you and the industry.  We could use more of these types of articles, huh?

Michelle ~ Great article!  Congratulations to both you and Connie!  I saw Shell's name in there too.  The more articles out there, the more public awareness.

Terrylyn: Thank you. Hopefully, more journalists around the country will see the article and want to see how staging benefits home sellers and REAs in other areas as well.

Kathleen: I'm loving the LA Times myself right now. It is great for all of us.

Kathy: None of this would have happened without Shell's input and RESA. The LA Times sought out RESA out of all the staging associations out there.

Beautiful.  Congratulations!  Will forward that to everyone in my "world".  Thank you for whatever efforts you guys took to get a credible, important newspaper to tell our story!

Can you speak more to that... maybe in a seperate blog, that you could turn into a small eBook and make available to all of us as a template for how we can get publicity in our local markets aswell....

I already forwarded the link to over 500 Realtors in my database ~ and that was just this morning.  The more positive publicity we can get for the industry as a whole, the better.

Believe it or not, I got an email from my Kauai clients - he reads the LA Times on line and saw the article last night!!!!  I hadn't even told him about it.  It doesn't matter where you are located, get it out there, everyone!

Juliet: Sorry, I somehow missed your comment earlier. I was "found" by the LA Times because I am a member of the Real Estate Staging Association. They contacted Shell at RESA and she referred them to 3 stagers in my area. I gave the author Connie's name (they needed the names of other stagers in the immediate LA area) because she sent some work my way and I think she is a good representative of our craft.

Kathy R: Thank you.

Diana: Thank you. I hope this brings work to all stagers.

Leslie: (My lifesaver!) Thank you and you are most welcome.

I am so glad to finally see the article, Michelle if you did not get the weekend edition in print there are more photos.  This article couldnt have turned out any better.  I was also contacted by the Wall Street Journal on Wed. I spoke to that journalist for an hour!!  She is awaiting approval to get the article going so hopefully we will hear  more about staging in the news.

Connie it was great to meet you at Brook this week!!

Michelle, Connie, Shell, I read the entire article and have to say that this is a well written piece from a very widely followed newspaper.  It certainly makes us feel like it's a good day to be a stager.  Thanks Ladies, you did a great job.

Shell: I bought the actual newspaper today. I am thrilled with the way the article turned out (although they could have chosen a little less dorky photo of me). The boost it will give staging is priceless. Thank you again for your support and for providing a platform for the LA Times to find me. And good luck with the Wall Street Journal. I'm available if you need someone to second your comments about staging;-))

Gary: It is, indeed, a good day to be a stager. Hopefully, other papers recognize the benefits of staging and help spread the word.

thx, Michelle, for all you do to "stage us forward"

I always love your modesty that shines through, looking at the picture being painted for all; not just for you.  That is what inspires industry progress and people like you inspire that industry progress.  Wish you weren't quite so many miles away.  I'd love to know you MORE!

Karen: You are too kind. Next time I'm in Atlanta to visit my husband's family, I'll look you up. Thanks.

Kathy: I'm glad it worked out the way it did. Quite honestly, you never know until its in print, what the article will say, what light it will cast or how it will portray you. Thank you, Kathy.

This is great - too bad they made that little side note on the naeba report - like stagers really do try to deceive the public.

Michelle, Connie & Shell congrats - you did well.

Kathleen: I actually asked them to include the NAEBA disinformation in order to dispel it publicly and in the LA Times.

Thank you, Shell Brodnax & RESA! Without the LA Times finding RESA, and understanding how inportant it is in our industry, none of this would have come to fruition.

Michelle ~ Talk to you soon ;-)
