Sometimes It's the Simple Gestures that Mean So Much

The other day my office (Coldwell Banker Residential Services- Roland Park, Baltimore) had its Annual Fall Luncheon, a pot luck luncheon.

I made a big pot of Pumpkin Soup. I made it in my La Crueset Dutch Oven that it seems I only use in the fall and winter. It was delicious (the trick is adding vermouth!) and it was easy to make.

I have two sets of elderly neighbors who are amazing people and I enjoy spending time with them.  I gave each of them some leftover soup and they loved it.  More importantly, they loved the gesture and were touched by it.  For me it was too easy and undeserved of such gratitude.  Makes me feel guilty that I haven't been doing it all along. I've decided the only thing to do is to do it more often. Why not? Sometimes simple gestures mean more than we know.
