Using Marketing Partners A "Win - Win": Drive Business to You & Them
I'm trying very hard to go door to door three hours a day. Typically I'll share HOA information, comparable sales information, market condition reports and lately, my newest weapon! Deciding that since only one out of every three or four homes is even home between 3:00-5:00 (I do catch a decent amount home between 5:00-6:00), I decided to start purchasing door hangers to leave on the doors where people aren't home.
These Door Hangers will have marketing partners printed on half of the front and back. I put information about the housing market and my contact information on the other half of both sides, the reamining space is occupied with coupons for dry cleaning, painting, hardwood floor refinishing, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, mortgage refinancing, and a roofing company. The idea is that most of these home owners need these services and I can provide value to them by giving them a directory of good contractors. Additionally, this shows I'm involved and well connected in the community, and that I care about providing value whether they are selling or buying or not!
In return I know that some of those who contact these contractors will be looking to put their homes on the market and that they are doing the work in preparation for that. Furthermore, chances are better that they will keep my door hanger if it has valuable coupons for services they will use. In return for putting them out door to door, I make sure that these vendors cover my printing costs. Also, I make sure that they leave them with their clients, and some of them committ to go door to door providing these same advertisements to the homes they reach, marketing my business as well.
We also have a Radio Show on the local FM & AM Newstalk stations, we have some of these same sponsors come on and talk about their trades and how it can benefit the home owner, it's great PR for the marketing partner and covers the costs of production for us as well.
Our mortgage broker makes Flyers to put in the flyer boxes which covers the information of our listings on the front and on the back has several homes from the MLS in the same price range, and both sides have his contract information to get the potential buyers pre-approved. This cuts printing costs and provides great leads for our lenders.
By continually refering business to each other, we all benefit and it establishes a great deal of good will. What experiences have you had using vendors to cross promote each other, and what business has it led to?
