We May Have a Lot of Company in the Universe!

According to NASA scientists there might be more than 8 billion stars in our galaxy that are like our sun, and which have Earth-sized planets and life-supportive temperatures.

Findings were published today in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.

As an article on msn.com pointed out, that means there might be more Earth-like planets than there are people on Earth. Think about that!

I wonder how many of them have real estate markets!

Oh I am sure we do but my biggest question is why do they seem to always crash land in Roswell New Mexico do they just not plan for enough fuel to make it past there???????

Hi, David -- that is funny! yes, why don't they land in the middle of Times Square?

The article pointed out that the nearest earth-like planet would still be several trillion miles away. Which points to the enormity of space... perhaps 8 billion earth-like planets in our galaxy alone, but with the distances between them measured in the trillions of miles. mind blowing.
