Real Estate Marketing

By
Real Estate Agent

I think the real estate business is very unique—it filled with challenges and opportunities. Everyone has his or her own way to market his or her business. I personally have tried multiple ways to promote my business: Newspaper ad, magazine, Internet, cold calling, door knocking, direct marketing, networking, etc., and a few years ago I learned that my direct marketing brings more business compared to the other type of marketing efforts.

I am lucky because I have backgrounds in both marketing and designing (web and graphic), and I am very proficient in photo editing software.   I create my own marketing materials: business card, postcards, flyers, etc. The postcards I sent out usually are different than the typical realtor postcards.  They are personalized and somewhat unique. I have helped a few fellow realtors with their email signatures and postcards; this actually made me think that maybe I should sell the PDF version of customized postcard templates to my fellow realtors :).

Anyway, I would like to hear from other real estate professionals on what marketing efforts work best for them. Please share!

Here are a couple example of the postcards I created:

Your Cards do look great Wika, I am happy to hear they are successful too.

Nice work on your cards Wika.  In my area a good website is the best tool to have.  Direct mail works but is not as good a return on investment as a good website.

Thank you Bob & John. It helps that I enjoy designing my marketing materials. What I like about my direct marketing is that potential clients from certain neighborhood would call out of the blue and when they do, they usually are ready. They speak to me as if they have known me forever, and they would happily refer me to their friends and family. Internet leads are great too but they usually have different attitudes and sometime very little loyalty.
