Since I am writing this on a Saturday in between a couple of home showing appointments I thought it would be fitting to write about getting better at RECREATION (HAVING FUN)! So I need a pinch hitter I should not be writing this one. 
WHAT IS RECREATION? For many people this would be going out to dinner or a movie. Perhaps its going on a vacation. Maybe for some people its fishing or hunting? Others in might be involved in some sports for recreation. I think this list could go on and on.
For recreation right now I read and write. I also workout and study. How is that recreation...that does not sound fun at all you may think? I like doing it! For me its recreation. I like sports. Being from Minnesota I think part of my recreation today will be to watch to see if the Gopher hoops team can pull off another victory.
CAN YOU DO SOMETHING FOR RECREATION EACH DAY? Of course you can. What I have been doing lately even if I don't have time to physically do something recreational...I spend a minute every couple hours meditating and visualizing me doing something that I really enjoy. Perhaps something is not going my way. I stop and take a few moments and think about something that I really enjoy doing and it gets me to feel better right away. Talk about finding a way to feel good when ever you want. I have just started doing this but I feel this activity might propel me to make the biggest strides in my 1% BETTER EACH DAY IMPROVEMENT. Imagine for a moment spending time throughout your day really feeling the joy of some of your favorite things to do. Do you think that might help you have more peace, joy and energy throughout your day?
The bible says, "Be joyful always!" (1 Thes. 5:16) We look forward to recreation because it gives us joy on some level. Hopefully the above example can help you have JOY ALWAYS!
