One of the highlights of the conference was a bus tour of the historic Gettysburg Battlefields. Our Battlefield Interpreter was extremely knowledgeable and provided us with a thorough tour and explanation of the battlefields. Well worth the trip, when visiting Gettysburg.
The three day battle lasting from July 1 to July 3, 1863 was considered by most to be the turning point of the Civil War. Later in the year on November 19, 1963, President Abraham Lincoln gave his famous Gettyburg Address.
We topped off the day with a reception and the President’s Banquet. Mr. Koneczny was presented with a plaque for doing an exceptional job this year manning the helm of the Association. Michael Setunsky was also presented with a plaque for his dedication and work with the Association. The socializing was great and the food was outstanding.
The conference was winding down on the third day with “Haves and Wants”, “Property Analysis” properties and the “Cash Board”. The conference ended with the election of Officers and Directors for 2014, and some recommendations for next year’s conference. Congratulations to Mr. Greg Hartley who was elected MAREMA’s President and all our elected Officers and Directors.
This year’s conference was an overall outstanding success and a great learning experience for all who attended. Thanks to all the attendees and our sponsors this year. Next year’s conference promises to be even better.
