Vanessa: I love Thomas Jefferson! I have a display on my office wall which includes two posters (framed in Italian Leather) with his "Rules of Conduct" and quotes from his memorial wall in D.C. Don, that Ann Landers quote I have found to be always right on the mark with my observations in life. They similarly say your true character is how you act when no one is looking. I've tried hard to be genuine and not act one way with some and another way with others. Surprisingly many think this is odd or rare. To me it seems the right way to live.

Don-thanks for the inspiration, I too am a quote-aholic.

Great quotes. They remind me of a poem by Edgar Allen Guest. I don't remember all of it but it is something like this. The title is "Myself"

I have to live with myself and so,

I want to be fit for myself to know,

I want to be able, as days go by

to look myself, straight in the eye

and that's all I can remember. Edgar Allen Guest was a great poet. Not the same as Edgar Allen Poe!
