Within walking distance of Byrnes Down is the renovated shopping area, Avondale Point. This shopping district boasts local Charleston businesses, including coffee shops, dress shops, wedding boutiques, restaurants, and more. It is a thriving area with plans for more growth in the future.

Of course Charleston and the surrounding area have played a great role in our nation's history. The area is home to many plantations, museums, and both Revolutionary and Civil War battlefields -  all open for tours. You may also visit Charles Towne Landing which was the first permanent European settlement in South Carolina.
