Outrageous is the correct word.  If you want to make someone feel really special, make my bread and tell them you made it just for them.  You can e-mail me if you have any questions.

Here is the recipe.  Makes 6 loaves.

10-12 cups of bread flour, 2 cups of oat flour

5 cups of whole milk

1/4 cup sugar,  1/4 cup of honey

1 tablespoon sea salt

1 stick of butter

2 eggs, fresh yeast, about 1/4 cup or 3 packs of dry yeast

1 package of raisins,  and ground cinnamon

Now here is what makes this Outrageous.  A day before, soak the raisins in a plastic bag with about 1/4 cup of water.  Every time you pass the raisins, flip the bag over.  After about 24 hours, all the water will be absorbed into the raisins, making them juicy.

Now melt the butter, add the sugar and honey and salt,  then add the milk at about 90-95 degrees.  Now add the yeast and eggs,  next add the flour.  1/2 white bread flour, 1/2 whole wheat flour.  and now the raisins and some cinnamon, mix all well.  Should be like pizza dough.  Let rise till double in bulk,  if in a warm area takes about 2 hours.  now punch down and divide into 6 loaves.  spread flat and put some sugar and cinnamon then roll up and put into greased pan.  When double in bulk bake in pre heated oven 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees, remember every oven is different, I have iron pans, takes me about 25 minutes for the cooking.  If you use something else, baking time will vary.

Don't cut until cooled.  I like to put in the fridge and when cold, it cuts very nicely.  Good luck.

Sounds like a good recipe, but I would have to split the dough and freeze half. Never could eat that much raisin bread. Have you tried it with dried cranberries?

Never tried cranberries.  but that's the beauty of making it yourself.  You can put anything you want in it.

You can half the recipe or make a few friends and give a few loaves away.  Good luck.

Looks great Ken. Do you grind your own oats for the flour? I like the idea of soaking the raisins, I'll have to try that. Thanks,
