Growing Pumpkins in the Hudson Valley

The Pumpkin Tree

A unique tree found only in the Hudson Valley - The Pumpkin Tree. This tree can be found on Route 32 bordering the town of New Paltz. A Hybrid of string and pumpkins and a little creativity to be sure. Only a good strong wind will pick them from their branches. If you pass by be sure to stop and look and take a photo. I think they are awesome!

Pumpkins

Driving around today it was obvious that the peak color of autumn leaves is over. Most have fallen off the trees and what remains will be be gone by weeks end. I miss it already. A fleeting moment in time and if you are lucky enough to capture it with your camera the photo lasts forever. I find it great to look back and have the memories of the day for me to cherish. Soon it will be snowmen in my photos. I wonder if can they climb a tree?

Good evening Janis .. that is amazing.  I have never seen anyone take the time to hang pumpkins.  This would be amazing to see.  Thanks for sharing.

Janice,

Hanging pumpkins as decorations.... poshtosh! Anyone can tell that these grew on the tree that way.

At one time long ago, I had my wife believing that pickels grew on trees too.... That was a heck of a party.

Brad I too thought that pickles grew on trees. You mean they don't?? Sounds like that could have been a good party for sure.

Janis, someone really likes to accentuate the season. Pumpkins can be really heavy and they must have them well secured to not fall during the winds. Love your photo.
