The Oldest Active Sailing Vessel in the World Sets Sail this Weekend in San Diego
The Star of India celebrates its 150th anniversary and has set sail this weekend to prove she still has what it takes. She is both a museum and a training ship for would be sailors of all ages. She is moored at the San Diego Embarcadero and is a prized possession of the Maritime Museum of San Diego.
With a ship this old and still in operating condition, one can tell that those that love her has given her much loving care.
It has always been a dream to sail around the world and this amazing vessel has done it 21 times in her lifetime. And according to those in the know, she shill has a lot of sailing days left in her.
