Legends of China - Opened spring 2007

Experience the elegance of eastern dance and the mystical performances of over 60 internationally acclaimed performers, featuring acrobats (all of whom have won either gold or silver medals at international competitions) and thunder drum performances by the Shanxi Jiangzhou Thunder Drum Troupe. Shaolin Kung Fu - Opened June 2007

Masters of martial arts perform in this two-hour spectacular performed daily. For added fun, arrive a half hour before show time for free Tai Chi lessons (a form of exercise and self-defense) from the performers. Smoky Mountain Opry - Opened spring 2007

The Smoky Mountain Opry will feature different performers each week in a two-hour showcase of music. This show will be performed at Great China Circus.

 

Mulan - Opened March 2007

Mulan at Great China Theater is the daring, action-packed story of a 15th century girl in China who disguises herself as a man to take the place of her elderly father who is summoned by the Imperial Army to fight against the invading Huns. Bridgemont Event & Entertainment Destination September 2007 - This new complex features a 240,000 square foot events center with a connected 224 unit hotel complete with an indoor and outdoor water park.

 

750,000 Square Feet of Upscale Retail - Located at Sevierville's Bridgemont development, the new shopping complex will have 750,000 square feet of high-end retail shopping, dining and entertainment venues.

 

3 New Water Park Hotels - Three new indoor / outdoor water parks connected to hotels will either open or begin construction in 2007. The Resort at Governor's Crossing will begin construction of its 10,000 square foot indoor / outdoor water park in March of 2007 with a completion date of November 2007. The water park will feature kids areas, two saunas, hot tubs, an endless pool, two "cyclone" tunnel slides that will begin in the indoor water park and end in the outdoor pool and many other features. The indoor water parks will be open year-round.

 

New 18-Hole Resort Golf Course - Set to accompany the current 18-hole championship course located at the site of the Bridgemont Entertainment & Event Destination. The resort course should be ready to play in early 2008, providing 36 total holes of golf at the complex. The current 18-hole championship course will remain open throughout the construction of the Bridgemont Entertainment & Event Destination.

 

Sportsman's Acres - This development located adjacent to Sevierville's new Bass Pro Outdoor World is now under construction. It will feature additional restaurants, hotels and shops.

 

New Roads - Sevierville is currently undergoing a road construction and widening phase to ease traffic congestion, especially during busy holiday weekends. So far, Sevierville has opened $31 million in new roads with plans for an additional $81 million in road improvements over the next five years.

 

Downtown Historical Walking Tour - Historic Downtown Walking Tour - Walk the streets where international superstars and local legends call home with the all new historic walking tour in downtown Sevierville beginning this November. Snap a photo with the bronze statue of hometown girl, Dolly Parton and see some of the buildings where she used to perform. Then swing by the family home of local Marryin' Man, Jimmie Temple, who has become famous for marrying tens of thousands of couples from around the world in his 40 years as County Commissioner. If you're feeling adventurous, he can even help you say "I Do" while you're in town. The historic downtown walking tour brings to life the great characters who live in Sevierville and the interesting stories that have taken place in this quaint town.
