If you blog, then you get those spam comments with some BS and then a link to another site, which will make you rich…
No, I do not read this stuff. And, of course, I do not follow the link.
But I am very tempted to delete these comments when I see them... and I don’t.
If I delete the comment, yes, I get rid of it right away, but the cockroach is live and well, and will be leaving comments on other blogs posts. Your blog posts.
Deleting the comment only deletes one comment...
It is numbers game, so the more we have them, the more infested our AR is going to be, so, please, fight the temptation and instead of deleting the comment, click Report a Concern (when your cursor in the comment field, you will see it in red at the bottom of comment left from the time stamp).
Yes, it will take some time for the AR to remove it, however, AR, as far as I understand, does not delete the comment, but rather goes to the root of it and deletes the account, and this is the goal: get rid of the cockroach.
When AR deletes the account, not only all comments disappear, the cockroach is unlikely to come back and create another account, too much work…
We, AR members, are the best pest control on AR, so, yes, you can get pissed off, but there is the proper procedure.
It is called AR (pissed) pest control...
