I attended presentation at Sanders Flooring this week, and I was surprised by all of the advances the floor covering industries have made!  Shaw Floors has made a huge step towards the Green Movement!  They recycled over 300 million pounds of flooring lastyear, and 100 million of that was converted directly into new carpeting!  Shaw continually works to reduce waste, improve processes and preserve natural resources.

  • Shaw Epic Hardwoods use up to two-third fewer trees than traditional hardwoods.
  • They've developed the world's largest Carpet to CarpetTM recycling process to turn old nylon carpeting into stunning new Anso® carpet.
  • Their recycling efforts keep 300 million fewer pounds of carpet going into landfills every year.

Wow, that's very interesting.  Great to know.  One of our Board's strategic plans this year is "the greening of the Board".  I will make sure that our members are made aware of this info from Shaw.  Every little bit counts.
