Charlotte NC Real Estate - Charlotte Home Buyers Deal with Short Supply
You don’t have to listen too intently to hear the echo that many South Charlotte home buyers are hearing these days! South Charlotte inventory is down, down, down! We have had an influx of new businesses coming to the area, therefore, relocation clients are feverishly searching for that perfect home in their favorite neighborhoods.
We are welcoming employees from companies such as
• Jabian Consulting (100 new job positions available)
• Huber + Suhner (50 new jobs)
• Rotech Healthcare (200 new jobs)
• Octapharma Plasma (undisclosed number of positions)
• XPO Logistics (approximately 200 new positions)
• MetLife (1,300 new positions)
With only 536 homes actively on the market (in every price range) in the South Charlotte zip codes of 28226, 28270 & 28277), there just aren’t enough to go around for JUST these new companies. There are also many buyers who wish to relocate before the second half of the school year begins in January. There are many first time home buyers out now, searching for their perfect home to buy before the first of the year. There are also many buyers who have sold their Charlotte homes to relocate to the South Charlotte area, unable to find housing.
We haven’t seen this ‘boom’ since 2006 - 2007 and are a bit caught off guard as we had an abundance of inventory just 18 short months ago! Homes are moving quickly if they’re price right, in excellent condition and in great neighborhoods.
At this point in the year, many homeowners have no desire to list their home, believing that spring market is the best time to list. I can tell you right now, if you have a home in a desirable neighborhood, in great condition and price it right...AND are ready to move, we can sell your home!
