Deck the Hulls - The Port of Camas-Washougal
The Christmas Ship Parade sets sail for its 59th year on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Each year, there's a special performance at the Port of Camas-Washougal with 25 decorated vessels to view.
The ships assemble at the Port docks at about an hour beginning at 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 30th, 2013, before they sail to Portland along the Washington side of the Columbia River.
Special Christmas Ship Viewing is a family tradition at the Port of Camas-Washougal
Your family and friends can sip on hot cider and munch on cookies from the warmth of the Port office, or watch the parade from a nearby restaurant such as the Puffin Cafe. In fact, we can help support The Christmas Ship parade by frequenting the vendors who support the effort.
Keep in mind, the actual parade schedule for the ships begins this year on Friday, December 6th and runs through the 21st. Both fleets will sail on the Willamette and Columbia Rivers nightly, weather willing, except for Monday, December 9th.
Approximately 55 to 60 boats take part in The Christmas Ship Parade, but since this is a volunteer effort, the actual number may vary depending upon the night. No worries though, as there are always enough cheer-filled Captains to put on a good show.
