We all somewhere deep inside desire to get healthier and stay healthier. Our homes are our havens, our sanctuaries even...but the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency cites indoor air as one of the greatest threats to health. Why? There are toxic gases in some carpets and cleaning supplies, harmful microbes on counters and other contact points, mold, etc. But there are ways to combat this.
The Kitchen-Clean your counters, faucets, cabinet pulls, refrigerator handles, light switches and garbage can lids (antwhere you touch continually and regularly) with a disinfectant. Leave the disinfectant on the surface for 2 to 10 minutes, then thoroughly rinse. Next, get rid of old dish rags. Use a microfiber sponge instead because these sponges are woven so that there are more pores on the surface to remove bacteria than a dish rag.
The Bathroom- Leave the exhaust fan on for twenty minutes after a shower to help heat nad moisture dissipate. The heat and moisture is what aids in the growth of mold. Adding a no-touch soap dispenser can help give you a quick squirt of soap without adding a potential contamination point.
The Living Room- A no shoes policy will help alleviate the spread of all kinds of yucky outside germs such as pet droppings and herbicides.
These simple tips can help you live a healthier life both inside your home and out.
